Massage Therapy Program

Metro Academy’s Massage Therapy program combines an experienced faculty, comprehensive curriculum, strong clinic program, preparation for the national exam and state licensure and career placement assistance to enable our graduates to start their own businesses, or succeed in any facet of the career they wish to pursue.

Our 700-hour program includes the 600 hours required by the state of Pennsylvania. The additional 100 hours provides our students with the additional massage techniques and experience necessary to give them a competitive edge in the job market.
The program covers trigger-point therapy, deep-tissue techniques, prenatal and infant massage, condition-specific massage, active isolated stretching, hot and cold therapy and geriatric massage. Our graduates are proficient in Swedish massage, clinical reasoning, and kinesiology. They are CPR certified, have a firm knowledge of Pa. law and ethics, and know how to start their own businesses. They are prepared for the MBLeX exam.

Growing Faster Than Most Other Industries

Employment of massage therapists is projected to grow 23 percent from 2012 to 2022, much faster than the average for all occupations. Continued growth in the demand for massage services will lead to new openings for massage therapists.
